One of our newer projects outside of Britain, The Cork Area Commuter Rail is a great project to showcase the importance of the railway network within Cork and the vital role it plays as a local and regional transport infrastructure network providing essential Commuter and Intercity services.
Having been undergone considerable improvements in recent years, there is now an ambitious strategy for the Cork Metropolitan Area for 2040. The CACR Programme is the heavy rail element of the CMATS and includes a series of projects that will create a full integrated metropolitan area network for Cork. The signalling and communications project consists of the signalling and communications installation/renewal considering the current and future development of the per-way, electrification and both new station additions and development of the complete CACR network. The programme consists of 7 work packages which will be developed in phases.
Railway Assurance has so far carried out successful HAZID workshop for CACR Work Package 2 and the associated interfaces with the remaining 6 packages.
